WEEKLY MISSION: The Wrong Way to Play
We all settle into gaming habits. We pick the same classes/roles, use the same weapons, solve problems the same way. And when a game gives us twenty options, somehow we end up choosing the same three every single time.
BUT NOT THIS WEEK, GAMERS!
This week, your mission is to pick a game you know and deliberately play it “the wrong way”, which really means, the wrong way for you.
Break your usual strategy. Ignore your instincts. Try something you’d normally never consider and see what happens. Maybe.. just maybe, you might find a new way to enjoy your favorite title.
How to Participate
Choose a game and give yourself a completely different approach for one, or more, play sessions.
Your challenge could be:
RPG: Bench your favorite party members and build a squad around characters you normally ignore.
Shooter: Put down your go-to weapon class and commit to something completely different.
Racing: Trade your favorite speed machine for a car you’d normally scroll right past.
MMO: Try a different role than you normally play.
Sports: Take control of a team, formation, or playstyle completely outside your comfort zone.
Strategy: Abandon your usual opening strategy and build around a mechanic or faction you’ve never mastered.
Stealth: Usually sneak through everything? Go loud. Usually leave a trail of destruction? Try getting through unseen.
Survival: Leave your comfortable base behind and spend a session living off whatever you can find.
The goal isn’t necessarily to make the game harder. It’s to have fun challenging yourself and make the experience different.

- What you normally do
- What you changed
- And most importantly: did it change your mind?
Screenshots or clips of your experiment going spectacularly right, or horribly wrong, are absolutely welcome.

- Give your experiment a fair shot before declaring it terrible.
- Multiple experiments are welcome if the first one sends you down a rabbit hole.
