Merchant’s Stall
The merchant waits until you’re close before leaning across the counter, barely containing his excitement.
“You’ll appreciate this one. The fellow who sold it to me claimed it was once a weapon of extraordinary power.” With a flourish, he pulls back the heavy cloth covering his latest purchase.
Beneath it lies a shattered blade, broken into several strange, ornate pieces. The merchant’s proud expression falters slightly as he looks down at them.
“Admittedly… he neglected to mention the ‘shattered into pieces’ part. He kept muttering the words “Did someone say…?” Over and over though.. how peculiar.” He picks up one fragment and turns it toward the light. “Still, something tells me this is no ordinary sword. What do you make of it?”
