WEEKLY MISSION: Let Fate Decide
How many games are sitting in your library right now? I’d guess… too many.
This week, you’re giving up control and letting fate choose what you play. Grab your Steam library, Game Pass catalog, console collection, backlog, or whatever pile of games you’ve accumulated over the years. Pick a random game from it and commit to playing whatever comes up.
No rerolls because you suddenly remembered why you haven’t installed it since 2019.
How to Participate
First, choose your library of games for Fate to draw from.
It could be:
- Steam Library
- Game Pass or another subscription library
- A specific genre in your collection
- Even a physical shelf of games
Then use whatever random method works for you:
RNG Generator number picker
A spinning wheel
A library randomizer
Let someone else blindly choose
Or invent your own method
Whatever gets selected becomes your game for the mission.
Give Fate a Fair Shot
Now comes the important part:
Actually play it.
Give your randomly selected game at least one proper gaming session this week before making your judgment.
When you’re finished, come back and report:
Fate Chose: What game did you get?
Time Played: How long did you give it?
First Impression: What surprised you?
What’s Next: Keep playing, save it for later, or back into the backlog it goes?
Bonus points for sharing a screenshot of the random selection that sealed your fate.
See What Everyone Rolled
Check out what fate handed everyone else. Someone uncover a hidden gem that’s been sitting untouched for five years? Ask them about it. Someone get absolutely betrayed by their randomizer?
Pay your respects with F’s in the chat if it was terrible.
And if you own the game someone rolled, feel free to offer some spoiler-free encouragement or advice before they jump in.
Ground Rules
- Your game must be selected randomly.
- No rerolls! The chaos is part of the mission.
- Give your selection a genuine play session before reporting back.
- Any platform or game library is welcome.
- Keep advice and discussion spoiler-friendly.
