I used to do the pea-sized drop, but nowadays X marks the spot. Personally, the thermal phase change pads have grown on me. For builds that I know will require little maintenance, the pads are the way to go. PTM 7950 is expensive to get where I live, but others work well enough.

I am usually a fan of the pea sized amount, but the new tools to spread it are intriguing. I may do that from now on.

I’m personally a fan of the silkscreen stencil method. Perfect application every time.
