Could anyone suggest a high-end Ryzen CPU and Radeon GPU combination that runs relatively cool and can be housed in a silent case without thermal throttling? Iām aiming for smooth 1440p performance with zero fan noise.
One way to minimize noise from a computer is to locate the machine some distance from where you are sitting while gaming. The worst place is to have the computer sit on the desk right next to your monitor, where you can look inside the clear side and see all the pretty LED illumination. Most of my builds sit on the floor and sometimes in a cabinet to better isolate fan noise from the user. My open air builds are actually quite less noisy than some of the enclosed case designs because of the cooling air surrounding the components.
As for a recommended list of components, I have a RX 7900 XTX paired with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM that runs quietly and games very well. These are in an open frame case mounted at the bottom of a plant rack I call āGreen with Envyā. Now you could go with an RX 9070 XT and a Ryzen 9800X3D and get a bit more performance, but it will cost you more.
