Looking for book series recommendations!

I am currently reading Dungeon Crawler Carl - and I am almost caught up and I’ll be stuck waiting for the next book.

What series would you recommend that gives that similar feel?

I’m on the last book of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and the Bobiverse series was recommended to me to follow. I may read the Mistborn series before moving to Bobiverse.

When I tell you I LOVEEEE Dungeon Crawler Carl!!

Bobiverse like @AMD_EricaW mentioned is also a great read!

I actually read and listened to Carl on Book-on-tape/Audible. I’m biased, but it’s one of the few series that I actually enjoyed significantly more as a book-on-tape. And while I do think Carl is kind of in a special league of it’s own, there are a few other series that I think hit that same feeling for me of high quality voice acting, immersive worlds, gamey, and just overall enjoyable:

  1. Project Hail Mary - Probably my favorite Sci-fi book of all time, and some of the best sound design and voice acting for any book-on-tape I’ve ever heard.
  2. Super Powereds - Definitely more of a coming of age story, but again, GREAT voice-acting
  3. Babel, or The Necessity of Violence - One of my favorite takes on a fantasy world and magic system that’s extremely informative and with GREAT voice acting (there’s a trend here lol)
  4. Kaiju: Battlefield Surgeon - If you want great voice acting and more Matt Dinniman, this was a good listen BUT… it’s kind of a lot to be honest. Not for the faint of heart

I read the mistborn series’s I enjoyed it! Definitely would love to pick your brain after if you do read it!

So I don’t know if this really a good recommendation after Dungeon Crawler Carl but I recently read The Sword of Kaigen by ML Wang and it was AWESOME. Beautifully crafted and written war story, think Avatar: The Last Airbender meets Feudal Japan Samurai heritage, with a feministic lens of power, 10/10 would recommend!!
