Optimizing PC gaming performance on different hardware setups

I have been exploring ways to improve overall PC gaming performance and make sure games run smoothly on different hardware setups. I noticed that factors like background apps settings and system configuration can impact how games perform.

I wanted to ask the community if you have any general tips or settings adjustments that help you get a consistent experience on a variety of games. What changes make the biggest difference for you when optimizing a gaming system for performance.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and real life experiences.

On all but one of my systems, I use an external GPU. So the 7000 series and up for CPUs in the systems that I’ve built, I disable the internal graphics in the motherboard BIOS. This saves power and reduces the CPU’s temperature too.
