I am contacting you regarding your contest titled " Win an AMD Advanced Gaming Desktop with a Copy of World of Warcraft®: Midnight™ and Diablo® IV: Lord of Hatred™!" I noticed that the official rules exclude residents of Quebec, and I wanted to gently bring a recent and important legislative change to your attention.
Please be aware that as of October 27, 2023, the Government of Quebec officially abolished all specific regulations and administrative requirements previously managed by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ) for promotional contests. Organizers are no longer required to register contests, pay duties based on prize value, or post security bonds with the province.
Canadian and international companies can now include Quebec participants under the same simplified conditions as the rest of Canada. The only remaining requirement is that the rules and promotional materials must be available in French, in compliance with Quebec’s Charter of the French Language.
If your policy to exclude Quebec was based on the old financial and administrative burdens of the RACJ, I kindly invite your team to review these updated regulations for your future campaigns so that Quebec residents may also participate.
