RX 9070 XT Stuttering Issue with Dual Monitor Setup

Hi AMD Support Team,

I’m experiencing a stuttering issue with my RX 9070 XT. Here are my system specs and what I’ve tried:

System Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
  • RAM: 64GB
  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit
  • Monitors: Two monitors via DisplayPort (165Hz primary + 144Hz secondary)

Issue: Stuttering occurs during gaming (League of Legends,Resident Evil 9 ..etc ) even with 500+ FPS(on League). The issue started to get worst after connecting a second monitor.

What I’ve already tried:

  • Updated to latest AMD drivers
  • Matched both monitors to 120Hz
  • Enabled Anti-Lag+ and disabled VSync
  • Set games to High Performance GPU in Windows Graphics Settings
  • Disabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS)
  • Tested with single monitor only (issue persists)
  • Replaced DisplayPort cables
  • Set games to Fullscreen mode

Error: Device Manager previously showed Error Code 22 on the GPU (now resolved after driver update)

Please advise on next steps.

Thank you

You’ve already covered most of the usual fixes. Since it even happens with just one monitor now, I’d be leaning more towards a driver issue than the monitors themselves. I’d probably try an older driver and see if the stuttering is still there.

The current Adrenalin driver update (26.6.4) might help with this issue. As newer driver updates are released, I would try each of them. Perhaps running the AMD Cleanup Utility in Windows Safe Mode after a new driver download (prior to installing it) would clean out old driver files before you install the update.

The AMD chipset driver update that’s built into Adrenalin 26.7.1 has a problem running. They recommend you go to AMD.com and search for AMD chipset driver updates directly, but you need to know your AMD socket (AM4 or AM5) and the chipset (use CPUZ-ID to identify it on the mainboard tab). These chipset driver updates install fine and then Adrenalin recognizes that you have the latest chipset drivers installed after you reboot.
