(05.29.26) AMD DAILY POLL: Fan Fav Fridays!

Worth the Wait

:video_game: Some games grab you immediately. Others take hours before they finally click. Maybe the systems are complicated, the story starts slow, or the world takes time to open up. But when it finally comes together, you’re glad you stuck with it.

When a game takes a while to win you over, what’s most likely to keep you playing long enough for it to click?

–

  • The story hints that something bigger is coming
  • The gameplay keeps getting more interesting
  • Friends keep telling me to stick with it
  • The world is interesting enough to explore
  • Pure stubbornness — I’ve come this far already

We’ve all hate-played something long enough to accidentally start liking it.

As I’ve gotten older and adulting duties have accumulated, it does get harder to stick to one game when there’s so many out there. I’m always stuck between starting my backlog VS keeping up with the latest games out there.

My biggest pulls in games would be open-world because there’s so much to do in one game. That’s where I get my value, but every other genre calls out to me.
