The Cartographer’s Table
The Royal Cartographer is hunched over his desk, carefully brushing sand from a battered map fragment. A broken compass and several unfamiliar coins sit beside it.
“An explorer brought this to me from a distant land. Claimed the roads were crawling with bandits, the wilderness was full of dangerous beasts, and the local nobility had a rather unfortunate habit of starting wars.”
He studies the fragment for another moment.
“Apparently, a good sword and a questionable sense of direction are all one needs to survive out there.”
He slides the map toward you.
“Tell me then… do you recognize this land?”
