Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself since you’ll likely be seeing more of me around here.
My name is Jon Pilon, though a lot of folks know me online as Pylawn. I’ve recently joined AMD (woo!) and I’m stepping into the role of Community Manager for AMDGaming.com, including the forums here but also the broader community.
I’ve been working in gaming and tech communities for a long time, most recently on the Alienware side where I spent several years managing and growing large global gaming communities. A big part of my background has always been about listening to community members, helping surface constructive feedback, and making sure community voices actually make it back to the teams building the stuff we care about.
Outside of work, I’m a long‑time PC gamer and builder. I’ve been into this space since I was a kid and that hands‑on side of gaming is a big reason I ended up in community work to begin with. I still tinker with builds, follow hardware closely, and spend a fair amount of time playing games when I can. I’ll make sure to post whatever I’m working on here so you all can follow along.
If you ever have questions, feedback, or ideas you want to share, feel free to tag me or reach out. This site is for you - so I want to know what you want to see, what pain points you have, and any other thoughts you have so we can build this into the best gaming community site on the internet!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and building this out together.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is out now so that has 100% consumed my time. I’m really digging the main campaign story this time so I’m taking it slow and playing with my friend so we can actually absorb it all instead of just power leveling through to get to the endgame this time. And the Warlock is awesome!
I have been in a full AMD hardware environment since October of 2024 and consider myself to be an active hardware enthusiast, but I just heard about AMDGaming.com in May of 2026. It seems that this site would benefit from some additional promotion to drive traffic and increase membership. Seems like you have a great place here, and I think it would be well received if more people were made aware of it.
We’re just getting started with it! Right now we’re in the building phase for a lot of this, but stay tuned because we have a lot more things coming soon!
The forum is almost half a year old… And there’s basically NOTHING here, I registered at the very beginning hoping AMD finally wants to listen to the customers, but there’s nothing, not even driver release notes for starters, not mentioning any interaction with AMD staff.
I’d be probably much better off using AMD’s Discord server, but I somehow hate using it.
Totally fair! Yes, it’s about half a year old but I’ve only been here for a month and getting things into shape. Lots of these things take time to build and change behaviours and get things moving but trust me, all the things you’re hoping for will be coming!
