Greetings AMD Gaming!

Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself since you’ll likely be seeing more of me around here.

My name is Jon Pilon, though a lot of folks know me online as Pylawn. I’ve recently joined AMD (woo!) and I’m stepping into the role of Community Manager for AMDGaming.com, including the forums here but also the broader community.

I’ve been working in gaming and tech communities for a long time, most recently on the Alienware side where I spent several years managing and growing large global gaming communities. A big part of my background has always been about listening to community members, helping surface constructive feedback, and making sure community voices actually make it back to the teams building the stuff we care about.

Outside of work, I’m a long‑time PC gamer and builder. I’ve been into this space since I was a kid and that hands‑on side of gaming is a big reason I ended up in community work to begin with. I still tinker with builds, follow hardware closely, and spend a fair amount of time playing games when I can. I’ll make sure to post whatever I’m working on here so you all can follow along.

If you ever have questions, feedback, or ideas you want to share, feel free to tag me or reach out. This site is for you - so I want to know what you want to see, what pain points you have, and any other thoughts you have so we can build this into the best gaming community site on the internet!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and building this out together.

WELCOME JON!

Excited to have you aboard so I can bother you endlessly

As a convo starter… what are you playing lately?

Haha Hey Buddy!

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is out now so that has 100% consumed my time. I’m really digging the main campaign story this time so I’m taking it slow and playing with my friend so we can actually absorb it all instead of just power leveling through to get to the endgame this time. And the Warlock is awesome!

Oh hey there Pylawn! Awesome to see you here!!
For a second, I thought I was on a different website.

Oh, a Community Manager!

When can we expect FSR 4 on RDNA 3?

Welcome Pylawn.

When will we get FSR4 on RDNA3/2? This is the #1 question we all have.

Well hello there stranger.

I have been in a full AMD hardware environment since October of 2024 and consider myself to be an active hardware enthusiast, but I just heard about AMDGaming.com in May of 2026. It seems that this site would benefit from some additional promotion to drive traffic and increase membership. Seems like you have a great place here, and I think it would be well received if more people were made aware of it.

Just a thought from a new community member.

AMD themselves don’t seem to care too much about this forum…

We’re just getting started with it! Right now we’re in the building phase for a lot of this, but stay tuned because we have a lot more things coming soon!

Definitely! I’ve got a few more updates and releases before we do much more promotion! But love the ideas and glad to see you’re liking the site!

The forum is almost half a year old… And there’s basically NOTHING here, I registered at the very beginning hoping AMD finally wants to listen to the customers, but there’s nothing, not even driver release notes for starters, not mentioning any interaction with AMD staff.
I’d be probably much better off using AMD’s Discord server, but I somehow hate using it.

Totally fair! Yes, it’s about half a year old but I’ve only been here for a month and getting things into shape. Lots of these things take time to build and change behaviours and get things moving but trust me, all the things you’re hoping for will be coming!

That’s definitely good news, but not sure if it’s the best communication from AMD. You could have seriously announced that months ago and save yourselves a lot of bad publicity.

Ehhh wrong, guess you get pass for being new here, but NO! they nuked the old forum to create this new BS site and all the trouble shooting and info of problems solutions and such accumulated over the years GONE!!
AMD gutted this community, even the Discord forums are not the same anymore!!

Why?

They want to get away from the budget GAMING company, they want a Higher Tech Status now as a Company
even being #1 in cpu right now they still have the stigma of being the go to budget vs Intel and Nvidia and they want to elevate the status in corp sector so then they can also elevate the PRICES to go with the status!
Remember we now but a LOT of people out there (the new money amd wants) that have NO CLUE what or who is AMD besides what they have been seeing in the news with AI and STOCK market!

Wow a NEW CM that ALREADY IGNORES the community?

Didn’t you get asked about FSR4 2 times, the 1st being may 1st, we know you saw them, so why did you completely (deliberately) IGNORE IT? then post as an answer the PR bs video that came out 2 weeks after, be it because of the pressure we gamers put on asking in every AMD post for FSR4 was starting to make AMD look BAD for INVESTORS AND STOCK HOLDERS, that’s the only reason why it was released! not because they are great and cool pro consumer,NO, they were not expecting that.
They figured they wouldn’t release it ( as no one knew it existed and that’s the key if we didn’t find out we would not have it think about that) and when they came and released what ever gpu’s (2 gens behind NVidia in tech) they will come with towards the end of qrt 3 or 4 of 2027, they figured people would just buy them up to get the “new?” tech since you ABSOLUTELY NEED A 9000 series to USE it there is NO OTHER WAY HONEST If we could we woul…ah freak who was stupid and let the cat out the bag?
Well now cat’s out the bag they discovered we lied and our true intentions of never giving it to them, so they upgrade their gpu’s sooner, let’s double down on the need of an extra chip to run it and make up another excus… wait , what someone already tried it and let them know it actually works on all 3 gens? quick stop talking about it, close comments sections so people don’t keep asking, we look bad to the investors and the new MONEY we want to do business moving forward, we already used the gamers we don’t need them, just keep them at bay so they stay calm and don’t make a lot of noise while we leave them behind…

So Sad but at the end of the day we should have known better we are only useful, when we are useful, now the new golden goose is AI Datacenters in other words corpo, no longer the avg consumer, to shift computing power out the user hands and have corpo provide/RENT you what you need.
Don’t forget Who is Involved with POLITICIANS NOW our very own Dr. Sue and her dear cousin Mr. Huang!!
Would not be the first time 2 or more companies “collab” on “fixing” things, somehow SKHynix and Samsung come to mind

At the end of the day these companies don’t give a freak about us, they only want our money even if they have to play being nice and pro consumer, to then WITH ACTIONS show us the true colors, when?
We all know the answer, The change happens once the MONEY starts coming in, and as we all know things change and usually for the worse.

I don’t know you, and it seems you have a good rep with the people who know you, make sure you keep it.

When are we going to get Ray Regeneration in more games?

I don’t have a roadmap on that myself since implementation is game dependent, but if I find anything out here I’ll make some posts here!
