PLP setup issue

Hello everyone! I have 9070xt and 3 monitors of the same model in PLP configuration (portrait-landscape-portrait). All three monitors connected with DP cables, have same resolution and refresh rate in Windows settings. The issue is, when I’m using AMD Eyefinity to make 3 monitors act like one, software “unrotates” them back to landscape orientation. Is there any way to keep them in PLP but add letterboxes to portrait-oriented monitors, as shown in pic above? I tried EyefinityPro utility, but it won’t let me save settings i’ve made, and there is no targeted 4080x1080 resolution option when using custom resolution.

I ran into something similar before — unfortunately AMD Eyefinity always tries to normalize the display layout into a single landscape surface when creating a group, so it ignores the portrait rotation even if Windows is set to PLP. That’s why your side monitors get “unrotated.”

Right now Eyefinity doesn’t properly support true PLP with automatic letterboxing. The workaround that usually works is:

Disable Eyefinity
Keep Windows in PLP layout
Create a custom resolution matching the center landscape panel only
Run games in borderless windowed mode and let GPU scaling add the black bars on portrait screens

Another option is using per-game resolution scaling instead of Eyefinity — many games handle this better than the driver itself.

I actually tested this setup while tweaking multi-monitor layouts for some lighter PC games (including setups I use while playing Stardew Valley on PC), and avoiding Eyefinity grouping gave the most stable results overall. I shared a small setup note about it on my Stardew Valley PC site as well since a lot of players use multi-monitor farms

Hope AMD eventually adds proper PLP + letterbox support, because right now it’s more of a driver limitation than a settings issue.
